1970 Fastback

'70 Fastback
Street Restomod/Protouring build. High profile show car, product development and testing vehicle.

'WIFE 3' was a good driver. Mechanically reasonably sound. Drove, handled and stopped great with all our product on it. It just wasn't a very nice 'canvas' to display our suspension, brakes and rear end. It looked good in pictures and from 10 feet away but had old faded paint, holes in lots of spots underneath. Mechanically it suffered from no air conditioning which would mean it was parked for the Summer, no sound deadening and a 4 speed made it pretty rowdy to drive long distances, wife 1 would complain of gas smells/fumes as I'd never finished extending the exhaust out the back so we never really drove it much... Time for a full rebuild!

Vintage Air # 951170 going in.  We also ordered the passenger side cross over tubes to reach the compressor a little cleaner. The tubes ship in raw aluminum so we powder coated them black so they don't show through the grille opening.

DeWitts Radiator out of Wixom, MI supplied the radiator.
For our project they built part # 32-4238006M
Made in the USA!
Using the stock saddle mounts this radiator is a drop in.
We custom built a 16 gallon Fuel Safe Enduro cell.  These drop into the original trunk floor.  This one has a 340lph pump in the tank, mounted in the surge tank complete with return line, vent and sender.
Trunk being finished out. Access panel for the Fuel Safe Fuel Cell.  Hiding the trunk mounted battery, amplifier, fuses and wiring.
The Optima battery is held down by a billet Eddie Motorsports Battery Box. We added a trickle charging port accessible without removing the trunk panels.
Panels can be removed with a few screws.  Black screws have been ordered!
Some paint details in the headlight bucket
Some paint details in the tail light buckets.  The modified/fit steel bumper looks sharp!
The carbon fiber grille from Foreman Fiberworx looks amazing!
Detail on the carbon weave.
More grille detail and the DeWitts radiator is in!
Love the fit of the custom steel bumper.
Custom made gas cap. Carbon fiber backing with aluminum and brass CNC details.

Tail light panel really looks sharp!

Exhaust is built! 2.5" 304 stainless.
Bora 'S-Type' mufflers.
Carbon fiber custom made mirrors by Foreman Fiberworx.
Drivers side mirror will be remote operated, just like the stock mirror.
Interior pieces are coming together. Napali Italian leather from Relicate. 'Spezia' is the name of the color and it looks great!
Should go very well with the blue exterior. We added some perforation sections and french seam stitching. We took some design cues from a late model BMW.

Measured for wheels. Rear will be a 18x11 with 6" backspace and a 315/30/18 tire.

On the front we will fit a 18x10 with 6" backspace and a 295/30/18 tire.
